First State Hydrogen, Inc. was founded in 2023 with a very clear vision: to provide affordable and profitable clean hydrogen for American energy independence. Beginning in 2024, we will be laying the ground work for a 60MW electrolysis facility in Delaware, powered by 100% renewable energy.
Locating in Delaware was an easy decision for First State Hydrogen. Today, Delaware imports 75 times more energy than it produces. The majority of that energy comes from fossil fuels. Yet Delaware and the greater Mid-Atlantic region have the assets and resources that makes the region the obvious choice for future producers of clean energy:
By leveraging these assets, hydrogen producers like us can drive clean energy independence for Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic and help the region meet its sustainability goals.
As an anchor partner of the Mid-Atlantic Clean Hydrogen Hub (MACH2) - one of 7 national hubs selected for an award by the US Department of Energy - First State Hydrogen is actively aligning its vision with that of MACH2 and looking forward to participating in building a broader hydrogen ecosystem. The goal of both MACH2 and First State Hydrogen is to ultimately connect a network of clean hydrogen producers, consumers, distributors and value chain suppliers, ultimately lowering the costs of hydrogen to enable clean energy for all. MACH2 will also leverage existing pipeline infrastructure strengths for a robust hydrogen transportation system.
